Angry Birds Play Grounds

Rarely has a smartphone game franchise attained the popularity which Angry Birds has managed to achieve since its introduction back in 2009. The billion dollar product mints money not only through its games but also by selling merchandise, seeking branding opportunities and setting up activity parks. And it’s this latter strategy which its creator Rovio is planning to bring into India next.
Angry Birds playgrounds as they’re called, are gearing up to hit India by the end of 2014. We’re not quite sure as to what we’ll be seeing in these parks, but Henri Holm, who’s the senior VP (Asia) at Rovio Entertainment has revealed that learning content will form a part of it in some way.

In an interview with the Economic Times, he revealed that the company has already entered into brand merchandise partnerships with Unilever brands and Parle, thus demonstrating its commitment towards India. For Angry Birds playgrounds, the scouting process in underway at the moment, and apparently, a considerable amount of interest seems to have been shown by some Indian companies.
The first Angry Birds game was launched in 2009, and the series has ever since seen tremendous success thanks to its unique gameplay. Over six different titles have been launched under it, with each having received immense appreciation from casual gamers around the world. Angry Birds Go! is the latest title to be gearing up for a release sometime in December this year. Abandoning the traditional slingshot gameplay model, this one features kart racing instead.
We’ll have more details on Angry Birds playgrounds when additional information is at hand.
